Arthur Edric John Avirell middle row 3rd from the right, So if he is there could there be more sailors in this photograph. Group photo No 10: George Oakes D/JX202473 Able Seaman and Barbara ______?. Barbara was a Petty Officer Wren who's job it was to interview the survivors of the Mahratta. She asked the survivors if any of them had seen George and one survivor had told her that George was right behind him when they jumped overboard.
